Ben brought A8 Connect onboard to scale their engineering team in Berlin. After a successful alignment meeting with clear requirements for the role, they had a track of hiring the firstly introduced candidates while still having access to other candidates to compare. With some key hires onboard they raised funding while saving around 80% on agency costs by working with A8 Connect over a traditional agency.

The Results

  • Cost-saving: Ben hired 4 people with A8 Connect. Traditional recruitment agencies charge approx 20% of the annual salary of the successful candidate, Ben would pay around €60.000, when they only paid for 2 contracts within A8 Connect, a total of  €14.000
  • Funding round: Ben received a Series A funding of €15.7m during the market recession once we hired with them an Integration Engineer.
  • Successful hiring: Building the engineering team in Berlin with a track of first forwarded candidates getting hired or receiving an offer. Hiring a frontend, 2x backend, and integration engineer.
  • Diverse talent pool: Ben hired the first person we introduced to them on the Frontend role, but used their leftover tokens (RTIC - Ready-to-interview-candidates) to see more candidates in the meantime. An important sourcing wisdom is in this, as you need to diversify the talent you speak to in order to make a  well-thought-through decision on who to hire.
